- Thousands were expected to attend the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday
- Two have were seriously hurt in one heated clash before 11am, Virginia State police reported
- The rally was being held at Emancipation Park and hundreds were seen stomping through the city
( Daily Mail ) The Unite the Right rally was being held at Emancipation Park and hundreds were seen stomping through the city, wearing militia uniforms, waving flags and chanting ‘Blood and Soil’ as they made their way towards the event.
Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer denounced the ‘cowardly parade of hatred, bigotry, racism, and intolerance march down the lawns of the architect of our Bill of Rights’ and warned for residents to stay away from the rally.
Still, counter-protesters flocked to the march in retaliation against the white nationalists neo-Confederates, and alt-right activists, screaming: ‘We’re here, we’re gay, we fight the KKK!’
The protest hadn’t officially started but social media videos showed the rally was escalating as people were seen throwing objects, breaking out into fights and pepper spray being used, as officers watched from behind fences.
The violence, which erupted ahead of the rally’s start time of noon, forced the city to declare a local emergency and determined the event was an unlawful assembly, using tear gas bombs to clear the unruly crowd.
Arrests were made after police in riot gear attempted to clear the park and a group of protesters pushed back against them. However, the battle between the two opposing groups continued to rage in the streets

- Professor Katherine Dettwyler : Otto Warmbier got exactly what he deserved, typical of the mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueles [sic] males who come into my classes”
From Fox News:
A college professor is receiving backlash for saying that Otto Warmbier “got exactly what he deserved.”
The University of Virginia junior died Monday after spending 17 months in a North Korean prison and being brought home in a comatose state. He had been sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel while visiting the country.
“Otto is typical of the mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueles [sic] males who come into my classes,” anthropology professor at the University of Delaware Katherine Dettwyler wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
People from across the country have called for her to be fired, some saying on Twitter that they would not send their children to the university.
The professor said students like Warmbier cry about their grades and think they can get away with anything, including raping women. It is unclear how she was relating rape to Warmbier’s case.

THOMAS JEFFERSON QUOTE BANNED IN UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA WHICH HE FOUNDED BECAUSE HE USED TO OWN SLAVES…HE ENDED INTERNATIONAL SLAVE TRADE FROM AFRICA AND PROPOSED END OF SLAVERY!
- “I drafted the e-mail because when Jefferson was referenced in emails related to the election, it communicated to me a message of exclusion,” Noelle Hurd said.
- Jefferson ended international slave trade, proposed ban to end slavery by government buying slave children, raise them and train them.
The snowflakes generation and their nutty professors are making headline again.
A Friday letter drafted and circulated by professors were signed by 469 students who objected to University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan quoting the third U.S. president and Declaration of Independence author in a campus email because Jefferson owned slaves, The Cavalier Daily reported. The trouble started after Sullivan sent a Nov. 9 email to try to urge unity following the presidential election.
“Thomas Jefferson wrote to a friend that University of Virginia students ‘are not of ordinary significance only: they are exactly the persons who are to succeed to the government of our country, and to rule its future enmities, its friendships and fortunes,’” Sullivan wrote. “I encourage today’s U. Va students to embrace that responsibility.”
The email sent liberal professors heads exploding.
“I think that Jefferson is often celebrated for his accomplishments with little or no acknowledgement of the atrocities he committed against hundreds of human beings,” said Asst. Psychology Prof. Noelle Hurd, who drafted the letter.
“I drafted the e-mail because when Jefferson was referenced in emails related to the election, it communicated to me a message of exclusion,” Hurd said.
America’s Founding Father Thomas Jefferson, who also served as a U.S. vice president and secretary of state, founded the University of Virginia in 1819 and was involved with the University until his death in 1826.
Jefferson ended international slave trade, proposed ban to end slavery by government buying slave children, raise them and train them.
In 1806, Jefferson denounced the international slave trade and called for a law to make it a crime. He told Congress in his 1806 annual message, such a law was needed to “withdraw the citizens of the United States from all further participation in those violations of human rights … which the morality, the reputation, and the best of our country have long been eager to proscribe.” Congress complied and on March 2, 1807, Jefferson signed the Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves into law; it took effect 1 January 1808 and made it a federal crime to import or export slaves from abroad.
In his writings on American grievances justifying the Revolution, he attacked the British for sponsoring the slave trade to the colonies. In 1778, with Jefferson’s leadership, slave importation was banned in Virginia, one of the first jurisdictions worldwide to do so. Jefferson was a lifelong advocate of ending the trade and as president led the effort to criminalize the international slave trade that passed Congress and he signed on March 2, 1807, a few weeks before the British did the same
In 1824, Jefferson proposed a national plan to end slavery by the federal government purchasing African-American slave children for $12.50, raising and training them in occupations of freemen, and sending them to the country of Santo Domingo. In his will, Jefferson freed three other male slaves, all older men who had worked for him for decades.
his Notes on the State of Virginia, published in 1785, Jefferson expressed the beliefs that slavery corrupted both masters and slaves alike.
In Notes Jefferson criticized the effects slavery had on both white and African-American slave society. He believed slavery destroyed the industriousness of whites stating “no man can labour for himself who can make another labour for him”. believing slavery was “the most unremitting despotism” by whites and “degrading submissions” for blacks. Jefferson defended blacks, who were stereotyped as thieves, stating that this was due to their condition of slavery rather than any moral depravity
