( Daily Mail ) An Uber driver was driving a Dallas prosecutor home from a bar when he claims the woman got angry at him for getting lost, physically and verbally attacked him, and then accused him of kidnapping her.
Shaun Platt, 26, recorded a portion of his interaction with Dallas County Assistant District Attorney Jody Warner, who can be hurling expletives at the driver, repeatedly calling him ‘an idiot,’ and demanding that he take her home, despite his pleas that she get out of the car.
The District Attorney’s Office sent a statement to DailyMail.com Monday evening announcing Warner’s termination.
‘After careful consideration and a thorough investigation, I have decided to terminate Ms. Warner,’ District Attorney Faith Johnson stated. ‘Although criminal charges have not been filed, her behavior is contrary to this office’s core principle of integrity, and it will not be tolerated.
‘As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom. I will not waiver on my expectation of the highest integrity for myself or my staff.’
Speaking to the Dallas Morning News, Platt said it all started when he picked up Warner, 32, at Capitol Pub in Old East Dallas on Friday night.
The Uber driver said Warner appeared inebriated and angry, and things only got worse after the passenger told him to follow a route that was different from the GPS directions, which caused him to get lost.
‘I said, “Should I make a left up here?” and she refused to answer me,’ Platt said. ‘She said, “You can follow the [expletive] GPS” and she became increasingly angry, even though I was just trying to get her home.’
According to Platt, Warner continued name-calling and berating him. She also slapped him on the shoulder, which prompted the driver to pull over on the side of the road and ask the passenger to exit the vehicle.
Platt said he wanted to call police right away but decided to give Warner a chance to leave on her own, as she continued saying she was a DA.
Fed up with his customer’s antics, Platt ended the ride on the Uber app. He says Warner threatened him that he was ‘never going to work again and told him she ‘knows people.’
‘”Who are they going to believe? I’m a district attorney,”‘ the ride-sharing driver quoted Warner as warning him.
Platt eventually called 911 to summon police and turned on the recording device.
Ride-sharing company Uber has demanded that their advertisements be removed from Breitbart News claiming that they want “nothing to do with” the website.
Uber demanded that any advertisements for their app be removed from Breitbart News earlier this year. However, Uber is now claiming that the advertising agency used to publish their ads on the internet continued to publish Uber ads on Breitbart. Uber filed a lawsuit against the advertising agency Fetch in a California court on Monday for failing to remove the advertisements from Breitbart.
An Uber spokesperson claimed, “Fetch was running a wild west of online advertising fraud, allowing Uber ads on websites we wanted nothing to do with.” It seems that Uber is so determined to remove their advertisements from Breitbart that they do not want readers of one of the most popular websites on the Internet as customers.
Ironically, Uber themselves have been the subject of a number of lawsuits, including multiple sexual harassment lawsuits and an investigation that saw as many as 20 Uber employees fired from the company and another 31 placed in counseling.
‘I’m going to start screaming out the window that you’re raping me, that you raped me.
‘I will punch myself in the face and tell the cops you did it. You wanna play?’
‘Donald Trump is going to send you and your family back. Get the f*** out of my country.’
( Daily Mail ) In shocking dashcam video of the altercation, the woman can be heard shouting from the back seat: ‘I’m going to start screaming out the window that you’re raping me, that you raped me.
‘I will punch myself in the face and tell the cops you did it. You wanna play?’
An Uber spokesman told MailOnline: ‘The behavior in this video is abusive and completely unacceptable.
‘As our Community Guidelines make clear, this will not be tolerated by anyone who uses Uber. The rider’s account has been banned and Uber is looking into this incident.’
The clip – recorded in the Bronx in New York, US – has provoked a furious backlash against the woman online with commenters branding her ‘stupid’ while praising the ‘patient’ driver.
At one point she screams at the man to ‘go back to your country’ as she fumes: ‘Donald Trump is going to send you and your family back. Get the f*** out of my country.’
The row is said to have started because the woman’s phone had run out of battery and the driver did not have a charger for her to use.
He calmly explains to the woman: ‘If I don’t have a charger, politely ask me. I’ll politely tell you, “I’m sorry I don’t have a charger,”.’
But she continues yelling at him to ‘call the cops’ while threatening to spit in his face and ‘violate’ him.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, says in the clip: ‘I will punch myself in the face and tell the cops you did it.
‘You’re going to jail. You wanna play yourself? I’ll call the cops right now…I’m going to tell them you’re holding me against my will.
‘You’re going to jail for domestic violence.’
The driver, who says he has been with Uber for more than two years, repeatedly asks her to leave the car as she screams racial slurs in his direction and orders him to call her boyfriend using his own phone.
Eventually after eight minutes the woman gets out of the car – but not before shouting out the window in English and Spanish asking passersby to call the police.
Video of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick arguing with an Uber driver about changing prices bankrupting them
The footage, which was obtained by Bloomberg, shows Kalanick yelling ‘bulls***’ as the driver, Fawzi Kamel, accused him for ‘bankrupting’ him.
‘People aren’t trusting you anymore? Do you think people will buy cars anymore? Nobody wants to buy a car. I lost $97,000 because of you. I’m bankrupt because of you,’
‘You know what, some people don’t like to take responsibility for their own s***.
‘They blame everything in their life on somebody else. Good luck,’ he barked at the driver before jumping out of the car.
TRANSCRIPT OF TRAVIS KALANICK’S FIGHT WITH UBER DRIVER
Kalanick chatted to the two women who joined him in the backseat sporadically, telling them when his birthday was and listening to one say she only dates ‘older men’.
He marveled over the Bay Bridge (‘I’m so glad the bay bridge is what it is’) before they came to a stop.
The two women hopped out of the car and he began talking to driver Fawzi Kamel. A transcript of their conversation is below:
TK: Good to see you man, thank you.
FK: Good to see you too. I don’t know if you remember me but it’s fine.
So we are reducing the number of black cars on the system over the next six months.
Yeah it’s good.
Yeah you probably saw it on the email.
I saw the email, it starts in May. It’s all about the rating but you, you’re raising the standard and dropping the prices.
We’re not dropping the price on black cars.
Yeah but in general.
We have to, we have competitors. Otherwise we’d go out of business.
But you have the business model in your hands, you could have the price as you want but you choose to buy everybody a ride.
No, no, you’re misunderstanding. We started high end. We didn’t go low end because we wanted to, we went low end because we had to.
Why? (Because of) Lyft?
That’s a piece of cake right there.
No, it seems like a piece of cake because I’ve beaten them. But if I didn’t do the things I did, we would have been deep (inaudible).
Why? We could go higher and more expensive.
So here’s the thing. Luxe is in San Francisco so I have guys working on Luxe which will be 15 to 17 percent more expensive than black…
But people aren’t trusting you anymore. Do you think people will buy cars anymore? We’ll buy them through Europe and invoice, nobody wants to buy a car. I lost $97,000 because of you. I’m bankrupt because of you. You keep changing every day.
Hold on a second, what have I changed about black?
You dropped the prices.
We started with $20. How much is the mile now, 2.75?
You know what, some people don’t like to take responsibility for their own s***. They blame everything in their life on somebody else. Good luck.
Good luck to you too but I know you’re not going to go far.
( Daily Mail ) TJ Miller called Donald Trump a ‘troll’ during his opening monologue at the Critics Choice Awards and sidestepped mentions of his arrest after he reportedly slapped an Uber driver during a heated argument about the president
He set the audience up by saying, ‘It’s been in the news all weekend, and it’s really affected me,’ before declaring: ‘The election was definitely hacked by the Russians.
Miller took another dig at Trump moments later, saying: ‘Trolls did well this year. Not the movie, the ones on the internet. One got elected president.’
“Silicon Valley” star T.J. Miller got arrested in Hollywood for allegedly making his Uber driver see stars, and not the good rating kind either.
Law enforcement sources tell us T.J.’s driver picked him up from the GQ Men of the Year party early Friday morning, and during the ride they got into an argument about President-elect Donald Trump. The driver claims T.J. slapped him in the head when they got to his house.
We’re told the driver got pissed and decided to make a citizen’s arrest. He called cops who showed up and took T.J. into custody. We’re told the driver did NOT have any visible injuries, and it’s he said/he said at this point.
T.J. was released without having to post bail. Our sources say he seemed intoxicated.
Makes sense … he was in a festive mood Thursday night. Besides the GQ party at Chateau Marmont, T.J. also went to the Vulture Awards bash at Sunset Tower.
