The brutal attack took place at 2.50am on Thursday as the 31-year-old victim walked back to her Airbnb rental at West 146th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard.
Surveillance video released on Friday by the New York Police Department shows the thug yanking away the woman’s bag.
He then punches her in the head and she falls to the sidewalk. He continues to hit her as she lies unconscious on the concrete.
According to investigators, the perpetrator struck the woman with such force that he knocked out several of her teeth and left her face bruised and swollen.
Police say he also tore off the tourist’s pants and sexually assaulted her.
The victim was later taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
Detectives suspect the same man carried out a strikingly similar attack in nearby Hamilton Heights last week.
A mob of 40 to 60 youths invaded the Oakland BART train station Saturday night, robbing and beating surprised passengers.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
According to a police officials, witnesses said 40 to 60 juveniles flooded the station, jumped the fare gates and rushed to the second-story train platform. Some of the robbers apparently held open the doors of a Dublin-bound train car while others streamed inside, confronting and robbing and in some cases beating riders.
The juveniles “committed multiple strong-arm robberies of bags and cell phones,” said a police summary prepared after the incident. “At least two victims suffered head/facial injuries requiring medical attention.”
Alicia Trost, a BART spokeswoman, said Monday that seven robberies had occurred — with victims losing a purse, a duffel bag and five phones. Six people were robbed inside the train car, with a seventh confronted on the platform, she said.
The attack was quick, police reported, and the teenagers were able to retreat from the station and vanish into the surrounding East Oakland neighborhood before BART officers could respond. The train that was hit was held for about 15 minutes as authorities investigated the crime and tended to the injured.

( Daily Mail ) A man who offered to help pay for a meal at a fried chicken shop in Brooklyn was instead brutally beaten by a group of four men before he was robbed.
The 37-year-old victim, who was left in critical condition, offered to spot two men when they didn’t have enough money to pay for their meal at Texas Chicken and Burgers in New York on March 1.
An argument broke out, and four men began punching, kicking, and striking the victim with his own cane before another man entered and emptied his pockets, police said.
The victim’s act of good will was rebuffed by the two men, before an argument ensued around 7.30pm at 521 Ocean Avenue in Flatbush.
The situation soon escalated and the two men started throwing punches and using the 37-year-old’s cane to beat him.
Two other men entered the restaurant and joined in on the attack, with surveillance footage showing the group of four kicking the victim in the head and body.
Other customers at the restaurant looked on, with some trying and failing to step in.
After the four attackers fled the restaurant, a fifth man entered and emptied the victim’s pockets while he was still lying on the ground.
The victim was eventually taken to the hospital, where he was treated for broken bones, cuts and bruises.
Police are now searching for the men pictured in the surveillance video.
Anyone with information regarding the incident should call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).

( Review Journal ) A man wanted since the start of the year for brazenly robbing several east valley businesses at gunpoint is the same man wanted for killing a man and injuring a waitress Saturday at an east valley bar, Las Vegas police said Monday.
“We need your help,” Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lt. Dan McGrath said during a media briefing Monday. “We have an escalation of violence that is a serious concern for everyone in the community. We have concerns that he could commit a robbery tonight. He is armed, he is dangerous, and he has a propensity for violence. We need to get him off the street.”
Police believe the same man committed all the crimes because of surveillance footage, physical evidence and the firearm used. In at least two of the robberies, the suspect fired at least one round.
“Unfortunately for us, our fears about this person’s violence continuing came to fruition this weekend,” Metro robbery Lt. Jack Clements told reporters Monday.
The Saturday morning homicide at the OK Corral bar, 1602 N. Nellis Blvd., was not a robbery, police said. A man originally entered the bar about 6 a.m. with a woman and danced for about an hour, surveillance footage shows.
