- “Look at that f—-t’s pants,” one of the teens told the other
From NY Daily News:
Boffa and his boyfriend, 25-year-old Gardella, were walking arm-and-arm on Grand St. near Bedford Ave. at about 6:10 p.m. when two boys, ages 15 and 13, walked by them, snickering about the older man’s laugh and skinny jeans.
“Look at that f—-t’s pants,” one of the teens told the other, according to Boffa.
Boffa stopped and asked the teens to repeat themselves.
“Then it went from 0 to 60,” Boffa said. “They shoved us and started spitting at us calling us ‘f—-t.’ That’s when one of them picked up the brick.”
The two victims ran off — and soon realized that the suspects, as well as six other teens, were chasing them
FAKE HATE! ANDREW KING ARRESTED AFTER SPRAYING SWASTIKAS OUTSIDE HIS HOME AND PUT BLAME ON TRUMP SUPPORTERS
( Milo ) A New York man by the name of Andrew King has been arrested on suspicion of spray painting swastikas outside his home and later claiming he was targeted by Trump supporters because of his Jewish heritage, reports News10.
Back in February, Andrew King reportedly spoke with The Daily Gazette about the supposed hate crime.
“Just a vein of fear went right through me,” he said. “All that history attached to that Nazi symbol.”
King went on to tie the supposed hate crime to Trump supporters, stating he would be leaving the swastikas up to “show people who thrive on hate, in my opinion, that love trumps hate in the long run.”
He also stated he would be communicating with religious leaders in the community regarding how long to keep the symbols up.
TRUMP FAN GREG PIATEK SUES NY BAR ‘THE HAPPIEST HOUR’ FOR REFUSING TO SERVE HIM BECAUSE OF HIS TRUMP HAT
Greg Piatek is suing a New York City bar ‘The Happiest Hour’ after bartenders and owner Jon Neidich refused to serve him drinks because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
Bartenders at a West Village hot spot served up discrimination — with a liberal twist — refusing to serve a customer because he was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, according to a lawsuit.
Greg Piatek, 30, an accountant from Philadelphia, claims he was snubbed and eventually 86’d by workers at The Happiest Hour on West 10th Street over his conservative fashion statement, popularized by Donald Trump on the campaign trail, he told The Post.
“Anyone who supports Trump — or believes what you believe — is not welcome here! And you need to leave right now because we won’t serve you!” Piatek claims he was told as he was shown the door by a manager.
The shake-up started when Piatek and two pals, after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial, ordered drinks at the posh tavern around 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.
A female bartender served Piatek a $15 jalapeño margarita and his pals beers. But when he tried to order a second round, a male bartender noticed his hat — and skipped them, he said.
One of Piatek’s pals pointed out it was their turn to be served, but the bartender scoffed. “Is that hat a joke?” the Manhattan Supreme Court suit claims.
“Immediately it clicked,” Piatek said, adding that bartenders didn’t see the pro-Trump slogan until he turned his back to the bar.
“Ignoring me because I’m wearing the hat is ridiculous,” Piatek said. “It’s really sad.”
The “flustered” bartender got them a second round but allegedly “slammed the drinks down.”
Bar owner Jon Neidich did not respond to calls. A manager at the bar refused to comment.
( Daily Mail ) A man who offered to help pay for a meal at a fried chicken shop in Brooklyn was instead brutally beaten by a group of four men before he was robbed.
The 37-year-old victim, who was left in critical condition, offered to spot two men when they didn’t have enough money to pay for their meal at Texas Chicken and Burgers in New York on March 1.
An argument broke out, and four men began punching, kicking, and striking the victim with his own cane before another man entered and emptied his pockets, police said.
The victim’s act of good will was rebuffed by the two men, before an argument ensued around 7.30pm at 521 Ocean Avenue in Flatbush.
The situation soon escalated and the two men started throwing punches and using the 37-year-old’s cane to beat him.
Two other men entered the restaurant and joined in on the attack, with surveillance footage showing the group of four kicking the victim in the head and body.
Other customers at the restaurant looked on, with some trying and failing to step in.
After the four attackers fled the restaurant, a fifth man entered and emptied the victim’s pockets while he was still lying on the ground.
The victim was eventually taken to the hospital, where he was treated for broken bones, cuts and bruises.
Police are now searching for the men pictured in the surveillance video.
Anyone with information regarding the incident should call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
( Milo ) New York’s education board will likely move to ban literacy tests for prospective teachers after repeated failures from black and Hispanic candidates, reports the Associated Press.
The decision is expected to come tomorrow.
The outlet reports that just 46% of Hispanics and 41% of black individuals pass the test on the first try, while that number stands at 64% for white individuals.
This has raised concern among opponents of the test, such as Leslie Soodak, who feels the test’s tendency to weed out minorities is a problem
“Having a white workforce really doesn’t match our student body anymore,” says Sodak – a professor of education at Pace University.
Pace University student Tabitha Colon also took the test and got a failing score, describing it as “pretty difficult.” Colon was also apparently “thrown off” by so much of the test being online as opposed to on paper.
“The format on the computer was a big confusing,” she says.
Meanwhile, Kate Walsh – president of the National Council on Teacher Quality – says minorities fail the test thanks to factors like racism and poverty.
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) – Single mother Kiarre Harris started researching homeschooling last November. She says her two elementary school aged children weren’t excelling at their failing Buffalo Public Schools.
