The Kansas City Star reported:
An NAIA school in Southwest Missouri has taken its support of the national anthem at sporting events to the next level.
Not only will athletes and coaches at College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo., stand at attention for the Star Spangled Banner, the opponent will as well.
The school calls it, “No pledge, No Play,” and school president Jerry C. Davis said he has no problem taking his ball and going home. The school has revised its contracts in competitions in all sports to reflect the pledge.
The pledge is a response to protests that started in 2016, with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice. The anthem protests have picked up momentum this season in several forms.
VIDEO: CAR ATTEMPTS TO RAM TRUMP’S MOTORCADE IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI – UPDATE! CAR HAD BRAKE PROBLEM
Video credit: Clayte Hefner
UPDATE! GIRL LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE DUE TO BRAKE PROBLEM.
Springfield Police confirm to KYTV-TV that the female driver lost control of her vehicle when she drove down an embankment from the local Bass Pro warehouse parking lot. The incident is blamed on the car’s brakes going out.
The driver was reported to be okay.
President Trump was in Springfield, Missouri today and Clayte William Hefner was waiting for Trump’s motorcade to pass when he captured on video a mysterious white car speeding out of the woods just as President Trump’s limo was passing by.
“Oh my gosh! Look at that car that just came out of the woods,” said one of the men watching as President Trump’s limo passed by.
“That car right there just drove out of the woods!”, the man repeated.
Secret Service agents then did a U-turn and exited their truck to engage the people inside the white car. A white person exits the white car with their hands over their head.
Still not clear if it was plain accident or some sinister plot.
Sorry might not cut it for the Missouri lawmaker who called for President Trump’s assassination.
Missouri Senate leaders announced Tuesday that Democratic state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal has been stripped of her committee assignments, just two days after she tried to calm the controversy with a public apology.
Meanwhile, the state’s Republican lieutenant governor, Mike Parson, on Tuesday called for the Senate to go into special session to expel Chappelle-Nadal from the body.
“I do not make this request of you lightly, but you and I know it is the right course of action to take for the people of Missouri,” Parson wrote in a letter to members of the Missouri Senate.
Republican Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard and Minority Leader Gina Walsh on Tuesday both rescinded the lawmaker’s nine committee assignments, with Richard saying in a brief statement: “I support the decision of Senate Minority Leader Gina Walsh to remove Sen. Chappelle-Nadal from all of her Senate committees. I am also removing her from all appointments under my authority.”
The move reflects the erosion of support Chappelle-Nadal has seen ever since she posted on Facebook last week: “I hope Trump is assassinated!”
- Maria Chappelle-Nadal: We call on Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal to NOT resign
On Thursday, Missouri State Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal wrote on Facebook: “I hope Trump is assassinated.”
After members of her own party are calling for her to resign and the Governor of Missouri is considering expelling her from the Senate, Democrat state senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal started this petition , which she wrote herself, in order to save her career.
We, as constituents and community members and people who feel the same frustration with our current political landscape stand with Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal. We know that there is a huge difference between saying that someone hopes Donald Trump is assassinated and someone calling for his assassination.
We call on Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal to NOT resign.
On Friday Missouri Lt. Governor Mike Parsons told Senator Chappelle-Nadal to step down or be removed from office.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports:
Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, posted a comment in a Facebook conversation Thursday morning saying she hoped President Donald Trump will be assassinated.
The comment has since been removed. But Chappelle-Nadal confirmed to the Post-Dispatch that she had written it in response to another commenter before deleting it.
- Jayson Newlun: Family friend is charged with raping one-year-old girl he was babysitting after the youngster’s father found him in the act and then beat him black and blue with a dresser drawer
( Daily Mail ) A Missouri man has been charged with statutory sodomy of a one-year-old girl he was babysitting after the child’s parents allegedly caught him in the act.
The girl’s father then went into a rage and hit him repeatedly with a dresser drawer.
Jayson Newlun, 26, was babysitting the one-year-old while her parents took a trip to the store. When the girl’s mother forgot her WIC food assistance folder at home, they returned to retrieve it.
Went they got home, the child’s mother noticed Newlun was not on the couch anymore – and her daughter’s bedroom door was open.
The mother walked in and allegedly saw Newlun take an inappropriate photo of her child before touching the little girl’s genitals while inappropriately touching himself.
Court documents state Newlun screamed before he was tackled by the girl’s father.
The father reportedly hit Newlun with a dresser drawer and punched him several times.
Family members told police they had only been gone for five or ten minutes.
Probable cause documents in this case show that Newlun was a family friend of the child’s parents. Newlun stayed at the family’s home the night of June 29th.
According to KMBC News the mother saw what was happening, and ran to get her husband. That’s when Newlun got beat-up by the girl’s father. His injuries are clear in his Clay County Jail mugshot.
A neighbor had to step in to stop the father from continuing to attack Newlun.
