Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama described herself as America’s “forever First Lady” on Wednesday as she addressed a crowd of high school students at a College Signing Day in Philadelphia.

“We have such high hopes for you. See, I am not one of those doubters. I know that you have everything it takes to succeed,” Obama said. “I know you are me, and if I can be standing here as your forever First Lady, then you can do anything you put your mind to.”

Michelle Obama: My Husband Was ‘The Good Parent,’ Trump Is ‘The Fun Parent’…envy much?

  • Michelle Obama : “Just because I gave a good speech, and I’m smart and intelligent doesn’t mean I should be the next president. That’s been our problem. We’re very shortsighted about how we think about selecting the commander in chief.” === sounds like she’s talking about her husband – except for the smart and intelligent part.

( Daily Caller ) Former first lady Michelle Obama threw a few barbs at President Donald Trump while speaking to a group of women at the Simmons Leadership Conference in Boston on Thursday.

Asked whether she would consider a presidential run herself, Obama declined, saying that she already knows what she is good at, and being the president is not it.

“Just because I gave a good speech, and I’m smart and intelligent doesn’t mean I should be the next president. That’s been our problem. We’re very shortsighted about how we think about selecting the commander in chief.”

Obama then compared her husband’s administration to the Trump administration, saying that Barack Obama was like “having the ‘good parent’ at home. The responsible parent, the one who told you to eat your carrots and go to bed on time. And now we have the other parent. We thought it’d feel fun — maybe it feels fun for now because we can eat candy all day and stay up late and not follow the rules.”

  •  There’s a real mystery with the First Lady
  • I sometimes call her the unicorn, because people are fixated by her
  • Melania Trump really connects well and seems to come alive in a joyful way when she’s around kids
  • She has a side to her that’s very mom focused, not unlike Michelle Obama.
  •  They say she doesn’t want to be here… I think those people would be surprised by just how opposite [of that] she is.

Kate Bennett, CNN White House reporter who covers First Lady Melania Trump and the First Family reveals what the gorgeous Melania is really like in person.

Daily Front Row reports:

What have you learned about Melania?

There’s a real mystery with the First Lady. I sometimes call her the unicorn, because people are fixated by her. She doesn’t emote a lot—she’s quiet—so there’s a lot of differences (not saying good or bad) from what we’re used to. But to come from Michelle Obama to a very quiet, reserved First Lady who you can’t really read…chronicling that has been pretty fun.

From what I’ve observed, she really connects well and seems to come alive in a joyful way when she’s around kids. I think we saw that on her trip to Europe this Spring when she visited sick children in hospitals and went to schools. It was the most we’ve seen from and heard from her. I’ve also learned that she has a side to her that’s very mom focused, not unlike Michelle Obama.

Her primary concern is her son and being a good mom. She’s figuring out a way to make that work for her platform. Recently she said herself that being First Lady is nothing she ever thought she would be. She made a joke when she was donating her inauguration dress to the Smithsonian saying, “I don’t know if you guys know this, but, my husband was never in politics but he was elected President. The last thing on my mind was what am I going to wear to the inaugural ball.”

People always say “Oh you miss Michelle.” They’re not that dissimilar in their enthusiasm for the job but their skill sets are obviously different because they have different strengths and weaknesses. I think people categorize Melania as a whole. They say she doesn’t want to be here, she doesn’t deign to touch the White House. I think those people would be surprised by just how opposite [of that] she is.

Melania Trump has cut the first lady’s office payroll in half. With only four staffers instead of 16, the payroll budget got slashed from $1.24 million to $486,700 a year.

High-maintenance Michelle Obama had at least 16 assistants that cost American taxpayers $1.24 million a year. When she went to Africa with her friends and family members, Michelle listed her daughters Malia and Sasha as “senior staffers” to justify the expensive getaway.

FOX News reported:

Melania Trump is embracing a more active and public schedule as first lady – but she still runs one of the leanest East Wing operations in recent history.

According to a Fox News analysis of White House personnel reports, Melania Trump has significantly reduced the number of aides on the first lady’s office payroll in comparison to her predecessor, Michelle Obama.

During then-President Barack Obama’s first year in office, 16 people were listed working for Michelle Obama, earning a combined $1.24 million a year.

This year, just four people were listed working for Melania Trump as of June. Their salaries totaled $486,700.
