Jesus Campos, guard injured in Las Vegas shooting, back at work

( RJ ) Jesus Campos is back at work at Mandalay Bay, a month after the security officer was shot in the leg by the Strip gunman, the Las Vegas Review-Journal has learned.

Campos, 25, returned to work Monday, a knowledgeable source said.

Campos was still being housed at an MGM Resorts property as of Tuesday afternoon.

The Review-Journal reported last week that Campos had been staying at an MGM Resorts International property at the company’s expense since the Oct. 1 massacre, which left 59 people dead, including the shooter.

Officer accidentally fired weapon in Las Vegas gunman’s Mandalay Bay suite

( RJ ) A Metropolitan Police Department officer accidentally discharged his weapon inside the Mandalay Bay gunman’s suite the night of the Oct. 1 shooting, the Clark County sheriff confirmed Monday.

The police firearm went off inside the suite sometime after officers made entry, Sheriff Joe Lombardo said. But the round or rounds were not fired in the same room where gunman Stephen Paddock was found dead with what has been described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“It happened, and we’re investigating it, just like we do with any officer-involved use of force,” Lombardo told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Nobody was struck.”

It’s unclear what caused the officer, who has not been named, to discharge his weapon

  • MGM is bullying FBI brass to bend and mold the shooting investigation to their corporate will and needs.
  • At almost every turn FBI results and Intel have to be cleared with MGM
  • FBI agents doubt Jesus Campos’ gunshot story

( True Pundit ) A growing faction of FBI agents doubt Jesus Campos’ gunshot story that reportedly unfolded during the Oct. 1st Mandalay Bay massacre in Las Vegas.

Before we begin here, it is important to note we have dispatched a reporter to question Campos at his Las Vegas home several times. Our reporter could not get past the armed guard hired to deflect all media in and around his residence. Efforts to question Campos have netted little results and he apparently has gone into hiding again. The last time Campos vanished, he fled to Mexico literally hours after the shooting.

FBI agents are experiencing similar frustration in Las Vegas, where they allege MGM is bullying FBI brass to bend and mold the shooting investigation to their corporate will and needs. At almost every turn FBI results and Intel have to be cleared with MGM, FBI insiders said. Hence, the ever-changing timeline of the shooting by alleged killer Stephen Paddock.

And the now refusal to hold additional press briefings on the results of the shooting probe. Those have been shut down by MGM legal personnel, sources said. The media and the public are not entitled to have lingering and troubling questions addressed by public ‘safety’ officials who apparently now take their orders from a corporate gaming and entertainment conglomerate.

MGM Resorts, in short, is strong-arming and bullying the FBI led by Las Vegas FBI SAC Aaron Rouse, a disciple of embattled FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. Rouse was appointed to the post by now-fired FBI Director James Comey.

If accurate — and there is little reason to doubt veteran federal law enforcement — this is certainly another black eye for the embattled FBI. We have already reported the Clark County Sheriff’s office is simply rubber stamping FBI decisions and has little autonomy of the probe.

  • Unlicensed Mandalay Bay security guard fled to Mexico after Stephen Paddock Las Vegas massacre
Fox News/ As seen on Tucker Carlson Tonight

Tucker Carlson said he obtained new evidence showing that Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos traveled to Mexico recently, only returning to the U.S. this week.

He said Campos was seen returning from Baja California Norte into the United States at the San Ysidro, Calif. crossing.

However, previous reports said Campos was wounded by shooter Stephen Paddock who fired a high-caliber round into his leg, which former Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino said would cause marked damage.

Carlson also said one of his producers investigating the background of Campos was gruffly hung up on when he asked law enforcement about the man.

He said it raised one of many questions he has about Campos and the investigation at large.

Carlson said his team tried to find out if Campos was a licensed security guard in the state of Nevada, since little is know about him.

When the state said he was not, Carlson’s producer called the Clark County Sheriff’s Office to find out what might otherwise be needed to be employed as a security guard there.

The agent “refused to tell [the producer] what is needed” and hung up on him, after saying they don’t talk about victims.

  • MGM security personnel are “undermanned, underpaid, under-trained.”
  • Sources say calls to police are ALWAYS a last resort at any MGM property
  • They never want police involved. They want no public record of incidents at MGM properties.
  • There are no cameras in hallways. And none in the stairwells either
  • High Rollers like Paddock are treated like untouchables

By Wayne Allyn Root ) I met in-person days ago with MGM security personnel. They called me and requested a meeting. They told me a story of a company that is simply a mess…filled with disgruntled employees…faulty equipment…no one with any training for a crisis…no one STILL with any idea what to do in case of emergency…and to top it off…

A full-blown mutiny going on.

Here are just a few highlights of our conversation:

*MGM security personnel are “undermanned, underpaid, under-trained.” That’s a quote direct from security supervisors.

*My sources say because MGM is heavily in debt and desperately trying to save money, and because executives see security as a department that “produces no profit,” MGM made decisions to savage the security budget.

*Most of MGM security is disarmed. Only supervisors have weapons. And they are in their offices, or the control room. If there’s trouble, they are far away, leaving unarmed guards unable to defend guests or themselves for long periods of time. Guards feel helpless.

*There is a petition at this very moment from MGM employees demanding guards be armed because employees do not feel safe at work.

*Security guards are so upset they are planning to unionize at every MGM property, all at once, in the coming days.

*My MGM security sources believe MGM security guard Jesus Campos is a key part of this mess. There are many questions that need to be answered about Campos.

He’s the only witness to the worst mass shooting in U.S. history and his only interview EVER was with a comedian (Ellen Degeneres) whose show is sponsored by MGM and who makes millions with her own slot machines at MGM casinos? MGM has just made things worse. They are digging the hole deeper.

*Media critics have asked why Campos was sent alone to the 32nd floor? Because of budget cuts and severe understaffing, MGM guards are almost always sent alone on calls.

*MGM has lots of guards on the casino floor, but often has only 3 guards on duty for thousands of guest rooms. Unarmed guards.

*Many critics have asked after Campos was shot, why were police not called quickly. My sources say calls to police are ALWAYS a last resort at any MGM property. They never want police involved. They want no public record of incidents at MGM properties.

*Secondly, they report MGM security has cheap, faulty equipment. Their radios are the worst problem. They often don’t work, or suffer “dead zones” all over the hotels. Campos may have been unable to reach his supervisors for crucial minutes. He may have been forced to use his personal cell phone.

*Contrary to public perception, there are no cameras in hallways. And none in the stairwells either- meaning a shooter could quickly escape to the street without video images.

*High Rollers like Paddock are treated like untouchables. Security personnel cannot question them for fear of being instantly fired.

*Paddock studied Mandalay Bay. He knew the shift change times. There is a shift change at 9:59 PM. That’s why the shooting took place around 10 PM. It’s a time of mass confusion.

*Incredibly, MGM security has never been trained for mass shooting, or terror attack scenarios.  No one had any idea what to do. My sources say they still don’t.

*MGM has no TAC team. Wynn has a TAC team. Wynn has been training for a mass casualty scenario since 2015. MGM is just starting that training now.

*The timeline for the shooting is not easy to establish. Yes, traffic on MGM radios (when they work) is recorded. But it’s very hard to retrieve and piece together accurate timelines.

Mandalay Bay guard describes run-in with Vegas shooter

One important thing that Ellen de Generes did not ask Jesus Campos? The disputed TIMELINE.

Ellen did not press Jesus Campos to clarify the lingering questions about the official timeline – such as whether he or hotel officials delayed calling police for six minutes after he was shot. Police changed the timeline three times. MGM disputed their statement.

Ellen did not ask also why Jesus cancelled his interviews with news outlets and chose her show whose forte is pop culture not investigative journalism.

Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos will appear on the Ellen Degeneres show Wednesday. The show was taped Tuesday and approved for airing by MGM media officials who set up the interview. Campos is interviewed along with Mandalay Bay maintenance worker Stephen Schuck.

True Pundit foretold days ago that Jesus Campos, under a gag order from MGM for weeks, would break his silence during a controlled and scripted network television appearance.

That True Pundit revelation was on Oct. 15th

But people are already asking: Are we talking about the same Jesus Campos here?

What? No more any future press conferences?

Fox News reports:

“He is a victim in this and we don’t discuss victims,” Las Vegas Police Officer and Spokesman Larry Hadfield told Fox News on Tuesday.

Hadfield said the department is not planning on holding any future press conferences, absent the development of new details.

MGM Resorts International, the hotel’s parent company, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal: “Jesus Campos wants to tell his story at a time and place of his choosing. He’s asked that everyone respect his request for privacy. We could not be more proud of Jesus.” The newspaper suggested that based on that statement, MGM seems to know Campos’ whereabouts.
