Congressional Baseball Game
America’s ultimate source of fake news strikes again!
CNN Politics tweeted an image Thursday of both congressional baseball teams gathered on the field, kneeling in prayer. The caption of the image, though, said, “Members of the Democratic team gather on the field for a prayer before the Congressional Baseball Game.” implying that only Democrats were kneeling in prayer and not the Republicans.
CNN’s tweet came on the heels of Wednesday’s shooting by Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson , who opened fire and shot Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise and several others as the Republican team practiced for Thursday’s game.
After inundated by enraged conservative Twitter users, CNN deleted the tweet and re-tweeted the image:
Shooter James Hodgkinson moved to Alexandria from Illinois in April, the same month New York Times wrote article giving minute details about the Congressional Baseball Game, the time, location, the capitol police inside their black SUVs and what they would be wearing.
Before firing his rifle, James Hodgkinson asked lawmakers, “Are those Republicans or Democrats?” , gunning down Rep. Steve Scalise and his security detail.
“When members of Congress practice in the early mornings in an Alexandrea, Va., public park for their Congressional Baseball Game, plainclothes United States Capital Police are sitting there in a blac S.U.V.”
Rand Paul said it would have been a massacre if not for capitol police who responded bravely when the shooter was doing his rampage.
