THE NEW YORKER: “Chick-fil-A’s Creepy Infiltration of New York City”

Chick-fil-A

  • The New Yorker Dan Piepenbring : “The restaurant’s corporate purpose still begins with the words ‘to glorify God,’ and that proselytism thrums below the surface of the Fulton Street restaurant, which has the ersatz homespun ambiance of a megachurch”
  • “There’s something especially distasteful about Chick-fil-A…Its politics, its décor, and its commercial-evangelical messaging are inflected with this suburban piety”
  • Mr. Piepenbring suggests, moreover, that there may be a sinister, “ulterior motive” behind the restaurant’s work, other than just selling chicken sandwiches, and it has to do with the G-word.

The New Yorker announced in a blatantly anti-Christian essay Friday that the arrival of Chick-fil-A restaurants in New York City “feels like an infiltration, in no small part because of its pervasive Christian traditionalism.”

The April 13 article by Dan Piepenbring, ominously titled “Chick-fil-A’s Creepy Infiltration of New York City,” reads like old Ku Klux Klan propaganda against Catholics, Jews, and blacks. It is evident from the first line through the last that the only thing that disturbs Mr. Piepenbring about the restaurant chain is the overt Christian faith of its owners.

Apparently unaware of just how bigoted his essay sounds, Piepenbring offers as evidence of Chick-fil-A’s “creepiness” that its corporate headquarters in Atlanta “is adorned with Bible verses and a statue of Jesus washing a disciple’s feet. Its stores close on Sundays.”

It makes one shudder just to imagine it.

Mr. Piepenbring suggests, moreover, that there may be a sinister, “ulterior motive” behind the restaurant’s work, other than just selling chicken sandwiches, and it has to do with the G-word.

….Piepenbring notes that Chick-fil-A is set to become the third-largest fast-food chain in the nation, behind only McDonald’s and Starbucks. While he seems to have no issue with these last two—which are motivated merely by a desire for profits and market-share—there is something deeply wrong with a successful company owned and run by devout Christians.

Despite the fact that the company donates thousands of pounds of food to New York Common Pantry, Piepenbring adds, still, “There’s something especially distasteful about Chick-fil-A, which has sought to portray itself as better than other fast food: cleaner, gentler, and more ethical, with its poultry slightly healthier than the mystery meat of burgers.”

“Its politics, its décor, and its commercial-evangelical messaging are inflected with this suburban piety,” he scowls.

David Gray was arrested after he's accused of raping a baby in a bathroom stall.

David Michael Gray, day care worker Child rapist who is confined to a wheelchair, has been arrested after he was allegedly caught raping a two-year-old girl in a Chick-Fil-A bathroom. On several occasions, “he took other small babies into the bathroom with him,” the report said

WFTV reports:

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 35-year-old wheelchair-bound Orlando man was arrested and charged with numerous counts after a customer at a Chick-fil-A allegedly caught him raping a baby girl in the restaurant’s bathroom, police said.

The witness told police that he went to the restroom and while he was at the urinal, saw something questionable in a reflection on the wall tile, an Orlando police report said.

“(The witness) was not sure if the baby was bouncing or if they were having sex,” the report said. “(The witness) stated he flushed the toilet on purpose to let the man hear him in the bathroom. (The witness) stated, if he panics, then he must be doing something wrong.”

The witness told investigators that the man, later identified as David Michael Gray, panicked and tried to leave the bathroom.

When the witness confronted him and tried to keep him from leaving, Gray allegedly pulled out a stun gun and threatened to kill the man, the police report said.

In a statement, Gray’s employer, who was not identified, told investigators that he was a day care worker at her home.

Another witness told officers that Gray comes into the restaurant at least twice a week with a woman and children, the police report said.

“She saw him take the baby into the bathroom, and on several occasions, he took other small babies into the bathroom with him,” the report said.

The Orlando Police Department did not say if investigators were planning to charge Gray with additional charges involving other alleged victims

VIDEOS: WOMAN TRASHES CHICK-FIL-A, WANTS MORE THAN CASH REFUND OVER BROTHER’S COLD CHICKEN NUGGETS

CLASSY! A black woman trashes Chick-fil-A restaurant in Florida after trying to get more than cash refund for his brother’s cold nuggets.

The incident took place on Monday night at a Chick-fil-A in the River City neighborhood of Jacksonville, Fla., according to Allison Music, a witness who shared footage of the ordeal on Facebook.

In her post, Music explained that she was waiting for an order at Chick-fil-A when she saw a teenage boy arguing about his order with the staff “for a good 15 or 20 mins.” She also said the manager had locked up the store in response.

In her post, Music explained that she was waiting for an order at Chick-fil-A when she saw a teenage boy arguing about his order with the staff “for a good 15 or 20 mins.” She also said the manager had locked up the store in response.

Soon afterward, a pair of women began beating on the locked door of the restaurant, and even broke one of the door handles before entering through another set of doors, Music claimed. The two women then proceed to start “yelling and arguing” with the workers, who were already on the phone with police.

Music didn’t say specifically what the two women were angry about, but in the post’s accompanying footage, they can be heard trying to obtain a refund on behalf of their brother, saying he was served cold nuggets.

A worker — presumably the manager — later tells the women that their brother had already received a complete refund in cash.

Things apparently escalated from there, as a second video shows one of the women knocking straws, napkins and condiments on the floor as an onlooker calls her a “heifer.” Once the woman is out of frame, she also appears to throw something across the restaurant.

So I went to Chick-fil-A tonight and we all know I go there all the time… well tonight was a little different. I walk in and this teenage boy is arguing with the workers along with another male. I have no idea what they are arguing about I just know the boy is making a complete fool of himself. This goes on for a good 15 or 20 mins. I still hasn’t gotten my order yet, but already paid. I was letting them deal with the problem. Well not 5 mins later two females come walking up. The manager has already locked to doors so nobody can get in. These females beat on the door trying to bust the glass and pull and jiggle the door handle till the door handle literally breaks off the door. Well they couldn’t get in that way so they proceed to go through the other door. This one happens to be unlocked. So then they start yelling and arguing with the works. (The manager is on the phone with the police by now.) Every time something goes down I always have it on my phone just in case. Well this can be a learning lesson for us all.

KNIFE-WIELDING, FAKE BLOOD IN CHICK-FIL-A, PROTESTERS TERRORIZE KIDS AND CUSTOMERS…UNHINGED!

Posted on Updated on

  • They came in slicing each other’s throats, putting each other on their knees, dropping them onto the floor in front of a bunch of children

Off their meds again! Left-wing animal rights protesters from Direct Action Everywhere  invade Chick-fil-A during “Cow Appreciation Day.” The unhinged loonies terrorize screaming kids and customers with their real-looking knives and splattered fake blood.

The cowards left before police arrived.

WFLA-TV reported customers and children were alarmed by the protest.

Real-looking knives, splattered fake blood and screaming kids. It’s not the kind of scene Chick-fil-A envisioned when they kicked off “Cow Appreciation Day.”

But, that’s what happened when protesters stormed the Pinellas Park restaurant during the lunch rush. The restaurant offered free food to people dressed like a cow.

An animal rights organization picked the spot to make its point. In front of dozens of startled customers, including many kids, they staged a loud protest.

Videos from cell phones show, at first, customers laughing as protesters entered the Chick-fil-A on 34th Street.

Smiles turned to anger as they realized fake blood covered people in cow and chicken costumes and one person carried a huge knife.

“People running in with knives, bleeding. Like bleeding on their shirts and just bloody knives. It scared the kids,” said Nichole Kretchmar.

Some parents shielded kids from the gory protest, but plenty watched.

“That’s sad, because a lot of the kids are an age where they can’t tell the difference between what’s real and fake. So, I believe everybody has a right to say what they believe in and what they feel is right. But, I also believe they took it too far,” said Tina Leacock.

The protesters are from Direct Action Everywhere Pinellas.

It opposes eating meat or anything else from animals.

…“They came in slicing each other’s throats, putting each other on their knees, dropping them onto the floor in front of a bunch of children,” said Crystal Valle-Najar.”

Here are the unwelcome guests, thankfully I had all the children locked in the play area so they couldn’t see our hear what was going on! I’m all for everyone having their own opinion, but when you come into a place full of children, with a knife in hand and proceed to cut the throats of a person dressed up as a chicken and a cow, all to get a point across, that’s going to far! Mind you the knife was fake and the throats of the persons dressed up were protesters. But there were young children there who saw everything happen and couldn’t tell the difference between it being real or fake. If you have a strong opinion on something by all means you have the right to speak on it in a reasonable manner, but sham on you for your actions today!”

PHOTO OF CHICK-FIL-A WORKER JAKEEM TYLER WITH NECK BRACE AND A SLING GOES VIRAL

Photo of dedicated Indiana Chick-fil-A employee working in neck brace, sling goes viral

AVON, Ind. – The teen’s dedication got the attention of a man who stopped at Chick-fil-A in Avon.

Cameron Nelson decided to go inside the restaurant because the drive-thru line was too long. When he went inside, he came across Jakeem Tyler.

Tyler was still at work even though he was wearing a neck brace and sling. His dedication to his job heartened Nelson, who posted about the experience on Facebook last Thursday.

“We sneeze too hard and decide to call in, but he’s working like nothing’s wrong,” Nelson wrote in a Facebook post that also included a photo of Tyler.

Nelson found out that Tyler had been injured in a car accident. However, he was at work because he needed the money and wanted to help feed the homeless for Christmas.

Nelson created a GoFundMe page for Tyler.

“I wanted to create this GoFundMe page to help him along in his mission and show some support,” Nelson wrote on the GoFundMe website.

Nelson set a goal of $2,500. As of this writing, the GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $5,300.

I stopped at Chick-fil-A & decided to go in cause the drive-thru was too long, and I saw this young man working with a neck brace & a sling. We sneeze too hard & decide to call in, but he’s workin like nothing’s wrong.

When I placed my order, I asked him what happened…he said he was involved in a car accident, but he was working cause he needs the money & also wants to feed the homeless for Christmas & needs the cash….maybe I was supposed to go in there. I think I may kick down a hundred or two on payday to help him out…he’s definitely doin it for a great cause & I was amazed he’s still workin despite his condition.
