Melania posed in between Macri and Trump while they posed for photos in front of the South Lawn entrance

( Daily Mail ) First Lady Melania Trump may be known for choosing simple yet elegant designer frocks, but on Thursday she opted for a more daring olive green ensemble for her latest meet and greet at the White House.

The 47-year-old wife of President Donald Trump donned a military-inspired jacket and matching skirt from the Altuzarra Spring 2017 runway collection as she and her husband met with Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his wife Juliana Awada in Washington, D.C.

The designer’s ‘Feday’ gabardine military jacket with python-print piping costs a whopping $2,995, while the matching skirt featuring asymmetrical buttons added another $1,120 to the price of the $4,115 ensemble.

According to Net-a-Porter, the python piping on the khaki green ensemble was actually inspired by a jacket worn by actor Nicholas Cage in the David Lynch film Wild at Heart.

Melania accessorized her edgy out fit with a pair of python Manolo Blahnik BB pumps – which retail for around $595 per pair – to match the piping on her jacket and skirt.

Although she switched up of her style for her latest meeting, she struck to her trademark hairstyle, wearing her caramel-colored hair in loose waves around her shoulders.

Meanwhile, the First Lady of Argentina stunned in a fire-engine red pencil dress featuring a peplum design at her hips.

Juliana, 43, opted for a monochromatic look, wearing a red patent leather clutch and red suede and patent leather pumps by Aquazzura, which retail for $695.

Awkwardly, Aquazzura is currently in the midst of a legal battle with Trump’s eldest daughter Ivanka Trump, as the high-end brand accused her of ripping off its designs for her eponymous fashion label.

Melania Trump (born Melanija Knavs[1] [mɛˈlaːnija ˈknaːu̯s], April 26, 1970; Germanized to Melania Knauss[2]) is the First Lady of the United States, married to President Donald Trump. Trump is the first First Lady of the United States to be a naturalized citizen of the United States; she was born in Slovenia (then part of Yugoslavia), became a permanent resident of the United States in 2001, and obtained U.S. citizenship in 2006. Prior to marrying Donald Trump, she worked as a model; by 2016 she considered herself a “full-time mom”.[3] Trump is the second foreign-born First Lady of the United States, following Louisa Adams, wife of John Quincy Adams. [4]

Early life

Melanija Knavs was born in Novo Mesto in the southeast of Slovenia, which was then part of Yugoslavia,[5][6] on April 26, 1970.[7] She is a daughter of Amalija (née Ulčnik) and Viktor Knavs, who managed car and motorcycle dealerships for a state-owned vehicle manufacturer.[8][9] Her father was from the nearby town of Radeče.[8] Her mother came from the village of Raka,[10] and was a patternmaker at the children’s clothing manufacturer “Jutranjka” in Sevnica.[8][11] When later working as a model, she changed the Slovene form of her last name Knavs to the German Knauss.[12]

She grew up in a modest apartment in a housing block in Sevnica, in Slovenia’s Lower Sava Valley.[1] She has a sister[13] and an elder half-brother, whom she reportedly has never met,[14] from her father’s previous relationship.[8][15]

When she was a teenager, the family moved to a two-story house in Sevnica,[16] and as a high school student, she lived in a high-rise apartment in Ljubljana. Melanija attended the Secondary School of Design and Photography in Ljubljana,[17] and studied at the University of Ljubljana for one year before dropping out.[18][19][20] She declares speaking English, French, Italian, and German,[21] in addition to Serbo-Croatian and her native Slovene.[22

Melania Trump

The First Lady Fashionista

US First Lady Melania Trump’s wardrobe has been the centre of discussions ever since her husband, Donald Trump was sworn in as the President of USA. Be it her sky blue, double-faced cashmere jacket from Ralph Lauren or the more recent black, sequined suit by Michael Kors, she continues to set fashion goals.

On her 47th birthday today, we raise a toast to her sartorial choices. Our fashion frat, too, gives Melania’s style a thumbs up. “She is one of the most stunning First Ladies ever around the world. She has been wearing her clothes quite well. The way she dresses up reminds me of the powerful Robin Wright from the House of Cards. Melania’s style is pretty cool,” says designer Nikhil Mehra. On being asked how he would like to dress her up, Mehra says, “I’d make a bandhgala, but in a more feminine manner, with well-fitted, slim-cut trousers. The bandhgala would have interesting coin buttons. I might even put a slight drape just to layer it.”

Trump said he was so moved by the story of Sergeant 1st Class Alvaro Barrientos, who was wounded in Afghanistan on March 17, that he wanted to do the honor himself.

Melania stood by her husband’s side at the visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, outside Washington, on Saturday.

The occasion marked Trump’s first visit as president to the military hospital.

Barrientos, whose right leg below the knee had been amputated, was wheeled into a hospital atrium in a wheelchair, accompanied by his wife, Tammy.

He was injured when an Afghan soldier opened fire inside a base in the Helmand province and wounded three U.S. soldiers, reported Reuters.

The commander of the U.S. military kissed Barrientos’ wife before he bestowed the honorable award to the sergeant’s left shirt collar.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump stood at the doors of the president's Mar-a-Lago resort to officially welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan

( Daily Mail ) United States President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have arrived in Palm Beach for two days of talks.

The leaders arrived separately on Thursday and will not see each other until early this evening, when they’ll meet for the first time at a dinner that will also be attended by their wives.

Xi was greeted at the tarmac in Florida, where a red carpet was stretched out for his arrival, by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Trump touched down just before 3pm.

Speaking to reporters who traveled with him on Air Force One from Washington, Trump was optimistic about the coming conversations. ‘I think China will be stepping up,’ he said of the pressure he expects the country to put on North Korea.

This marks their first ever meeting since Trump became president. While laborers and Democratic lawmakers are urging Trump to bring up touchy subjects like currency manipulation and trade, his aides are tempering expectations

Their summit brings together two leaders who could not seem more different: the often stormy Trump, prone to angry tweets, and Xi, outwardly calm, measured and tightly scripted

Both men wore dark suits, while the American first lady sported a red tea-length dress, paired with a floral print heel. Her Chinese counterpart wore a traditional qipao-inspired blue dress with black shoes

Trump said he wants to raise concerns about China's trade practices and urge Xi to do more to rein in North Korea's nuclear ambitions in the talks, though no major deals on either issue were expected
