ANTI-GUN SEN. GILLIBRAND: GUN OWNERS BUY ‘SILENCERS’ TO KEEP THEM QUIET AND HARD FOR POLICE TO TRACK THEM DOWN

Posted on

Democrat Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand  gun’silencer’ tweet:

‘Can you imagine if we allowed a criminal with a gun in New York City to attach a silencer to their weapon? It’d be a dangerous mistake.’

( Milo ) Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand from New York has become the subject of much trolling after releasing a series of anti-gun tweets that shows her knowledge of guns is virtually nonexistent.

According to New York Daily News, Sen. Gillibrand is vehemently opposed to new legislation that would theoretically make it easier for gun owners to buy silencers.

Fox News reports that the legislation in question is known as the “Hearing Protection Act.” It was introduced earlier this year and aims to eliminate the $200 fee and extensive paperwork required to purchase a silencer legally.

Now, despite the “silencer” moniker the cylindrical gadgets have been given, TodayIFoundOut.com points out that they really don’t silence anything.

“Silencers primarily only suppress the noise due to the pressure wave from the rapidly expanding propellant gasses,” reads the article. “This is only a portion of what makes a gunshot loud. The primary other source of noise in a gunshot is the sonic crack created by the bullet.”
