LAS VEGAS (FOX5) –  Confusion and sheer panic, those were words used to describe the scene of a deadly shooting at a Las Vegas Starbucks Sunday.

Medin Gebrezgier was at the Starbucks when another customer entered the business and opened fire.

“It was just stay alive, stay alive, find a way to stay alive and pray and other than that it was just help the people around me,” Gebrezgier said. “We were all afraid for our lives. We didn’t know what was going to happen next.”

Gebrezgier witnessed the suspect fire two shots in the air before shooting another customer in the chest.

( CBS ) The suspect was described by police as a Hispanic man in his 30s. LVMPD Lt. Dan McGrath says the suspect has a violent criminal history and should not have been in possession of a gun.

Officers say the suspect first went through the Starbucks drive-thru and his card was declined. Seeing the customer was agitated, employees gave the man the water he asked for.
