A Melbourne mural portraying US Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in racy swimwear was covered up by a traditional Muslim niqab (left). Artist Lushsux made the change in response to council complaints that the initial mural (right) was offensive. He says ‘no reasonable individual’ would consider his new mural offensive. The street artist is known for his controversial portraits of prominent figures.
Lushsux, who is behind a number of controversial murals throughout Melbourne, said he believed this could have been a solution to the council’s protests.
‘This is no longer a wall of a supposed ‘offensive and near naked’ Hillary Clinton, it’s a depiction of a beautiful Muslim woman,’ said Lushsux.
